Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the e-distribution of SVAMITVA Property Cards on December 27, 2024, marking a historic step in rural empowerment and governance. The event, held via video conferencing, will see the distribution of 58 lakh property cards to beneficiaries in approximately 50,000 villages across 10 states and 2 Union Territories.

The states include Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, along with Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This milestone signifies the preparation and distribution of over 2 crore property cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme, with an unprecedented 58 lakh cards being issued on a single day.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will interact with selected beneficiaries and deliver a nationwide address. Union Minister of Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, and Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj Vivek Bharadwaj will also participate in the event.

Several Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, senior officials, and stakeholders will join virtually, while 13 Union Ministers will oversee regional distribution ceremonies at designated locations nationwide. In parallel, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj will conduct awareness and orientation programs at approximately 20,000 locations across India, promoting the SVAMITVA Scheme and other flagship initiatives.

The SVAMITVA scheme, launched by PM Narendra Modi, utilizes drone and GIS technology to provide "Record of Rights" to property owners in rural population areas, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

Key achievements under the SVAMITVA Scheme include the completion of drone surveys in 3.17 lakh villages and the preparation of over 2.19 crore property cards across 1.49 lakh villages. These digitally validated property records have strengthened local governance, enhanced Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), and facilitated financial inclusion. Women, in particular, have benefited through legal property ownership, strengthening their financial and social security. The accurate mapping has also significantly reduced property disputes, fostering rural stability.

The scheme has become a cornerstone of sustainable development in rural India by empowering property owners and facilitating improved infrastructure planning.
