In a notable reshuffle, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been allotted the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Ministry. Chouhan, a prominent leader from Madhya Pradesh, has an incredible political career, having served as the Chief Minister of the state four times. He is affectionately known as 'Mamaji' and 'Bhaiya' among the people of Madhya Pradesh, highlighting his strong connection with the local community.

Born in 1959 in a farming family in Jait village, Chouhan has a robust agricultural background. His roots in a Kirar farmer family have significantly shaped his political journey and priorities. Starting his political career with the RSS and student politics, he emerged as a key leader in Madhya Pradesh during the 1970s and 1980s.

In addition to his new role as the Agriculture Minister, Chouhan has also been entrusted with the Ministry of Rural Development. This dual responsibility underscores the government's focus on integrating agricultural advancement with rural development to foster comprehensive growth in these sectors.

His leadership in agriculture is expected to leverage his vast experience and deep-rooted understanding of rural issues to drive substantial progress and reform in the sector.

The ceremonial oath-taking event at Rashtrapati Bhavan saw Chouhan among the first five ministers to be sworn in, indicating the importance of his role in the cabinet. As he steps into his new responsibilities, the agricultural community and rural stakeholders look forward to his initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
