Solar Rooftop Yojana: Get 40% Subsidy for Installing Solar Panels, Know How to Apply

The central government is making constant efforts to promote renewable energy like solar energy. The government has also started the Government of India Solar Roof Top Scheme to promote solar energy. 

Solar Rooftop Subsidy Scheme is an initiative of the Government of India to promote the installation of solar panels on rooftops in the country. The Central Government encourages the use of solar energy in the country through the Solar Rooftop Scheme. At the same time, under this scheme, the government is also providing subsidy facilities to the consumers for installing solar rooftops. Using this will reduce power consumption. The government aims to achieve 100 GW of solar power capacity by 2022. Out of this, the government has set a target to get 40 GW of energy from rooftop solar panels. 

How Much Subsidy Will be Available Under Solar Roof Top Scheme? 

If you install solar rooftop panels up to 3KW, then you will be provided 40% subsidy by the government and if you install 10KW then you will be given 20% subsidy from the government.

Solar rooftop subsidy has been made available for residential, government, social and institutional sectors. 

Application Process For Solar Rooftop Installation 

  • To install a solar rooftop, you have to visit its official website https://solarrooftop.gov.in/.

  • A new page will open in it where you have to click on Apply for Solar Rooftop.

  • After this, another new page will open in front of you where you will have to select the link according to your state and click on it.

  • After this the form will open in front of you, in which all the necessary information will have to be filled.

  • Coal, Petrol and Diesel do not have to be used to make energy from solar panels.
