These North Indian States Likely to Receive Heavy Rainfall; Icy Winds from Himalayas Makes Delhiites Shiver

Weather Update: The climate is vehemently changing across India with the onset of the winter season. While the northern parts of India are gripping with the cold wave, southern India lashes with heavy rainfall. The weather department of India has predicted fairly widespread rain/thunderstorm with heavy falls likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh from 12th December and isolated heavy falls likely over Western Himalayan Region from 11th December in its morning bulletin. On the other hand, dense fog is very likely to hover around isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, South Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 24 hour, say reports.

On the other hand, dense fog is very likely to hover around isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, South Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 24 hour, say reports.

On the other hand, the national capital blanketed with dense fog in the morning hours with temperature decreased to a single digit. The air quality again turned “Hazardous” with AQI of 559 which results in a heavy smog since yesterday.

As per the latest weather forecast, a fresh active Western Disturbance likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of 10th December, adjoining plains of northwest India from 11th December, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining north Madhya Pradesh and Bihar from 12th December. Under its Influence, scattered to fairly widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy falls likely over Western Himalayan Region from 11th December and scattered to fairly widespread rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh from 12th December.

The Cyclonic Storm 'Pawan' over the southwest Arabian Sea moved west-southwestwards with a speed of 26 kmph during the past 06 hours and lay centered at 0530 hours IST of today which is likely to intensify as a Cyclonic Storm during next 06 hours.

As per yesterday’s report, maximum temperatures were reported above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura while the minimum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over Gujarat.
