Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar bestowed the highly anticipated fourth National Water Awards during a ceremony held in New Delhi on June 17. The distinguished accolades, announced by the Jal Shakti Ministry, recognized 41 exceptional winners across 11 categories, including joint winners, for the National Water Awards of 2022.

Initially, as per the PIB website, it was said that the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar will confer the 4th National Water Awards on June 17, 2023, at an award distribution ceremony being organised at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi by the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD &GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti.

National Water Awards to Best State, District, and More

However, in a thrilling victory, Madhya Pradesh clinched the top spot in the fiercely contested best State category. The award for the best district was bestowed upon Ganjam District in Odisha, which showcased remarkable accomplishments in water management. At the grassroots level, Jagannadhapuram Village Panchayat in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana stood out for its exemplary efforts, earning the best Village Panchayat Award. Each deserving winner was presented with a well-deserved citation, a prestigious trophy, and substantial cash prizes.

The National Water Awards, in line with the government's vision of fostering a water-rich India, serve as a testament to the extraordinary contributions made by individuals and organizations.
