However, at the trailer launch of the event, Alia Bhatt who is in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor was asked whether she will ever beat someone up in real life for her boyfriend. The actress very clearly responded and said, “I haven't done this so far. But I still have many years in front of me. However, I don't think I will ever do it because I'm a non-violent person. The 2 minutes 42 seconds long trailer showcased Ranveer as a boy in Mumbai who goes on to become one of India’s most notable rappers talents. He is depicted as a slum-based aspiring rapper, who refuses to compete with a seemingly established rapper but the story takes a turn when he's given a right direction and he returns to the stage to beat another rapper.

The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Kalki Koechlin in important roles. The film has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and will hit screens on February 14.
