Weather Alert! Fairly Widespread Rains Likely over Northern India; Delhi-NCR to Witness Heavy Showers Today

A Western Disturbance is over north Pakistan and adjoining areas on Friday says the weather department forecast. The Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation will bring scattered to widespread rain or snow and thunderstorm over Northern and Central India on Friday. As per the weather forecast, heavy rain and thunderstorm are likely to lash over northern India including Delhi, Haryana, UP, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on Friday. 24 hours total precipitation of 80mm to 120mm is possible over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

A Western Disturbance is over north Pakistan and adjoining areas on Friday says the weather department forecast. The Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation will bring scattered to widespread rain or snow and thunderstorm over Northern and Central India on Friday. As per the weather forecast, heavy rain and thunderstorm are likely to lash over northern India including Delhi, Haryana, UP, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on Friday. 24 hours total precipitation of 80mm to 120mm is possible over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Widespread rain and thunderstorm are likely over Punjab and fairly widespread rain and thunderstorm are likely over Haryana and Delhi on Friday, says the weather channel.  The Western Disturbance weakens on Saturday evening.

Moreover, a fresh Western Disturbance will affect over Western Himalayan Region from Monday 30th evening.

As per the weather channel, easterly to southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal and westerly winds from the Arabian Sea converge over Rajasthan and adjoining areas on Friday. The convergence brings isolated to scattered rain with lightning over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on Friday and over Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

A cyclonic circulation is over North-Eastern India in this forecast period. Scattered to fairly widespread snow or rains with lightning is likely over Arunachal Pradesh this weekend.

Isolated showery precipitation with lightning is possible over Kerala in this period.  Dry weather is likely over Southern India on Friday and Saturday. Dry weather is likely over Eastern India in this period, but isolated rain with lightning is possible over Odisha Saturday to Tuesday. Dry weather is likely over Northern India Sunday and Monday.

Maximum temperatures are -1 to -4°C or less than average over Northern India, north-Central India and Eastern India in this period. Maximum temperatures are near normal over Southern India. Minimum temperatures are near average or warmer than normal across India.
