Weather Alert! Many Northern States Including Delhi to Receive Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm during Next 2 Days

Amid the corona crisis, flood has created havoc situations in Assam and Bihar. Moreover IMD has predicted heavy rainfall over northern states during the next 2 days which may create disruption in Kharif Sowing.

As per the recent reports, the western end of the monsoon trough lies south of its normal position, however its eastern end is still to the north of its normal
position. Convergence of lower level winds from Arabian Sea over Western Himalayan Region is very likely to continue during next 2 days. A cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab & neighbourhood at lower tropospheric levels.

Flood situation improves further in Assam, toll increases to 108

The flood situation in Assam has improved further as reported on Thursday though one more person lost his life taking the toll to 108 .

Bihar Flood Death Toll Rises to 11

As per latest updates, 38 districts in the state are bearing the brunt of floods as almost major rivers here, including the Kosi, and their tributaries, are overflowing in the state. While over 38 lakh people have been affected thus far, a total of 11 people have lost their lives in various flood-related incidents.

States Likely to Get Heavy Rain Today

Due to convergence of strong lower level winds over the west coast, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are most likely along the west coast during next 5 days. Extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Konkan & Goa on 4th August, 2020.

Under the likely formation of Low-pressure area over north Bay of Bengal on 4th August, 2020, rainfall intensity & distribution is likely to increase over east India with isolated heavy to very heavy falls from 4th August onwards.

Moderate to severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, South Telangana, Rayalaseema, and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 12 hours.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature in India

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at
many places over Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, West Madhya Pradesh, and Madhya Maharashtra while Minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over West Rajasthan; at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh.
