Temperature Trends in Northwest and East India

From 3rd to 7th November, temperatures in Northwest and East India are expected to drop gradually by 2-3°C. This fall in both minimum and maximum temperatures follows a minor decrease observed over the Indo-Gangetic plains in recent days. Currently, temperatures are slightly above normal across the plains in Northwest, Central, and East India, with maximum temperatures 2-4°C above normal and minimum temperatures 1-2°C higher than average in some areas.

Rainfall Forecast: Heavy Rain Over Southern India and Andaman & Nicobar Islands

A cyclonic circulation over South Tamil Nadu and the adjoining region of Sri Lanka is causing rainfall activity in the southern parts of India. This circulation, combined with a trough extending from South Tamil Nadu to Coastal Karnataka, will bring light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy rainfall in certain areas.

  • Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal: Heavy rainfall is likely on 2nd and 3rd November.

  • Kerala & Mahe: Rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected on 2nd and 3rd November.

  • Andaman & Nicobar Islands: Isolated heavy rainfall on 5th November.

Delhi/NCR has experienced a slight decrease in temperatures over the last 24 hours, with maximum temperatures ranging between 32-34°C and minimum temperatures between 14-19°C. A clear sky, along with moderate wind speeds from the northwest and southwest, characterized the weather on 1st November.
