Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Predicted for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh; Dense Fog to Affect Uttar Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh from 7th-10th November, with stable weather expected across most of India. Smoggy conditions will persist in Delhi/NCR, and fog is likely in northeast Uttar Pradesh.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather updates impacting the southern regions, particularly Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, from the 7th to 10th of November. The rest of the country is expected to experience stable weather conditions with no significant weather activities anticipated for the upcoming week.

The IMD forecasts intermittent rainfall across specific regions in the South, highlighting potential heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms.

A cyclonic circulation over the south Bay of Bengal at lower atmospheric levels is influencing these weather patterns, potentially intensifying rainfall across the southern regions.

In addition to rain forecast, dense fog is expected in isolated areas of northeast Uttar Pradesh, particularly in the early morning hours on the 6th of November.

The IMD reports a relatively stable temperature trend across India over the past 24 hours, with minimum temperatures hovering above normal by 2-5°C across Northwest, Central, and West India and 3-5°C in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Maximum temperatures remain elevated by 2-4°C in regions such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.

The IMD does not anticipate significant changes in maximum or minimum temperatures across the country in the upcoming week.

Weather Forecast for Delhi/NCR (6th - 8th November 2024)

Delhi/NCR has witnessed a slight drop in maximum temperature over the past 24 hours, with temperatures generally ranging between 29-32°C for the maximum and 14-19°C for the minimum. The region has experienced smog conditions, with wind speeds fluctuating between 4-6 km/h during the day and calming at night.
