Weather Update: IMD issues Orange Alert in Mumbai, Yellow Alert in Kerala Districts for Coming Days

According to India Meteorological Department, Mumbai may witness heavy rainfall in the next three days. In Mumbai, heavy rain was expected to arrive on 11th July Sunday, peak by 13th July Tuesday and intermittently continue for the rest of the week.

Cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh

Extremely Heavy and continuous rain has wreaked havoc in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh on Monday (12th July). A cloudburst was reported in the Kangra district of the state that has caused severe damages to public properties in Bhagsu village.

As per reports, cloudburst occurred over Dharamshala & triggered flash floods in the region. The cloudburst blocked the national highway near Jhakri in Rampur area of Shimla district. So far, there is no reports of the loss of live.

Mumbai Rains: IMD issues orange alert in Mumbai

According to India Meteorological Department, Mumbai may witness heavy rainfall in the next three days. In Mumbai, heavy rain was expected to arrive on 11th July Sunday, peak by 13th July Tuesday and intermittently continue for the rest of the week.

India Meteorological Department predicted cloudy sky with moderate rain and thunderstorm in city & suburbs. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at the isolated places. Earlier, weathermen predicted that rainfall activity will begin from 10th July Saturday. However, there is a delay due to formation of an east – west shear zone over north Konkan coast.

The condition of monsoon is all set to strengthen over the entire Mumbai region under the influence of low-pressure area forming in Bay of Bengal & an upper air circulation in Arabian Sea.

Mumbai may receive 400mm of rain and has been placed under orange category by the India Meteorological Department. Current Weather forecast suggests heavy rain on 12th July Monday.

The Mumbai city has seen 1106mm of rain since 1st June, which is 37% in excess of seasonal normal of 801mm. However, since 1st July the city recorded deficient rain at departure of more than 80%

Prediction of Heavy rain Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The warning of heavy rain issued for next five days in the state due to formation of low-pressure belt in the Arabian Sea coupled with the strong southwestern winds. The India Meteorological Department issued alerts across the state in view of developments.

Orange alert is issued is these states on 12th July Monday:

Heavy rainfall is predicted in Malappuram, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kasaragod for 11th July Sunday. On 12th July Monday there will be moderate to very heavy rain predicted in Kannur and Kasaragod.

Yellow alert issued for 12th, 13th 14th July:

On 12th July Monday, yellow alert issued in districts of Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Wayanad. On 13th July Tuesday in Thrissur, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Ernakulam. On 14th July Wednesday the yellow alert has issued in Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kasaragod and Kannur.
