Today, i.e., 29th October, 2021, Krishi Jagran launched a new website - ‘Tractornews.in’, along with a webinar on Farm Mechanization. This effort is made by MC Dominic, Founder and Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World, to bridge the gap between farmers and industrial companies to help speed up the awareness, acceptance and implementation of new technology in agriculture.

Hopefully, with the help of this portal, farmers will now be able to learn and make informed decisions while buying tractors and other required farm implements.

Tractornews.in will provide trending news, launches and updates on Farm Mechanization. Detailed specifications of brands and models of tractors and implements across the country, along with the Geographical data of Dealers to help the farmers in searching dealers in their local areas will be there. Moreover, detailed analysis of several tractor brands to ease the purchasing process for farmers. Also, the website will give better insights in New Technology and products via Customer and Dealer reviews.

One of the key speakers at the webinar representing 2.24 lakh farmers of Central India, Yogesh Kumar Dwivedi (Chief Executive Officer – Madhya Bharat Consortium of Farmers Producer Company Limited) said - “There are 150 FPOs today in Central India. There are 70% small and marginal farmers for whom getting a tractor is really costly. There are a lot of farm machinery like- harvesters, threshers, ploughs, cultivators, etc, is available in the market but farmers don’t know what to buy. Lack of knowledge about the usefulness and operation strategy of tractors needs to be addressed. Technology and Farm Mechanization is important for good yields.

"With the increase in price and decreasing sustainability, there are increasing challenges for the future regarding fossil fuels like diesel and petrol. This calls for a shift towards electronic and environment-friendly farm machinery. The per-hour cost of petrol run tractor costs around Rs 1,200/-, which is really expensive for a farmer who also has to pay his child’s education fees. With the help of Farm Mechanization, there can be a livelihood change as it will reduce the manpower. Growth and development is seen in India’s tractor production as this year it has been more than 9 lac tractors have been exported to other countries. But, there is a requirement of customization in mechanization and machinery, for example – there are 11 agro-climatic zones in Central India within which there is a difference in soil depth in different areas. Farmers are inclined towards the new technologies and ways of Farm Mechanization given that the machinery is customized available at low cost.”
