4 countries, 61 political leaders, Bollywood actors, TB survivors, health experts, all descended to commit to TB Free India by 2025 on Feb 4. 

The two-day gala campaign ‘IndiaVsTB’ organized by Member of Parliament & Global Champion on TB, Mr Anurag Thakur, witnessed widespread participation.  

Countries including United States of America, Singapore, Australia & Russia showcased their support towards TB Free India Summit & Cricket Tournament 2019 by being a part of the campaign and expressing their support towards eliminating TB not only in India but across the globe.  

From a political standpoint too, Member of Parliaments & Member of Legislative Assemblies, across party line came together to be a part of a common cause.  

Commenting on the completion of the two-day event, Mr Anurag Thakur said, “A consolidated approach is what is needed to address issues of public interest. Tuberculosis is one such issue that needs a cohesive approach as India has the highest burden of TB amongst all countries globally with every 4th TB person being from India. I am glad that this campaign received overwhelming support from everyone. Even from a political standpoint, everyone rose above political ideologies and came together as one to make sure that we eliminate TB from the country and build a healthy Nation.” 

Adding further, he said, “Ambassadors and Head of Missions across countries like United States of America, Singapore, Australia & Russia have showcased their commitment to the cause and assured their support towards building a healthy India.” 

Lastly he said, “I am thankful to Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Sh. JP Nadda, Sh. Jayant Sinha, Sh. Vijay Goel for being present at the event and supporting this initiative aimed towards supplementing Prime Minister’s vision of TB Free India. This will certainly bring the required impetus and create widespread awareness regarding TB and the importance of everyone’s role in eliminating it. I am certain that together we all will be able to achieve the mission 2025.”
