Farming is as successful as any other business; three young people from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh have proved it right.
After completing their MBA, BSc, and Bcom, the three friends together decided to start organic farming instead of traditional farming method of the family. They adopted new technology in farming with the help of government. In the first season, they earned seven times more in comparison to the traditional farming. They earned a profit of Rs. 10, 000, 00 and are also providing employment to more than two dozens of unemployed people.
At present, many fruits and vegetables grown by them are reaching Banaras, Jaunpur, Prayagraj and some other cities.
Organic Farming
Durgesh Singh is from Maharajganj district of UP, adjacent to the Indo-Nepal border. He is MBA degree holder, he is doing organic farming of fruits and vegetables with his two friends Varun Shahi and Aditya Shahi in fire acres of land. They are doing organic farming since last year using scientific methods instead of traditional farming.
They started organic farming with the help of technical support from the Horticulture department and also with the grant of agricultural machinery in low cost and time.
Aditya Pratap Singh said that in the last season, vegetables and fruits started growing within 6 months. With the input of Rs. 1.2 Lakh, they generated the revenue of 12 lakhs. And this has increased the enthusiasm and also increased the hopes of fulfilling dreams.
Drip Irrigation System
They are also getting the benefits of government schemes, and are cultivating with drip irrigation method. Earlier, they used to earn Rs. 30,000 in an acre of land, but now income is more than the double.
By using science and technology efficiently in the field of farming, Aditya Pratap Singh, Durgesh Singh, and Varun Shahi are doing very well in organic farming and became the role model for new farmers. Varun Shahi is MCA pass, Aditya Singh has completed his bachelors in Science, and Durgesh Singh has done MBA.
Their hard work brought good results and also inspired others for organic farming. They started this organic farming under the name Singh brothers. Lockdown became the bottleneck in their success, but they started selling their crops online and traders of many cities including Allahabad, Banaras, Jaunpur came forward for wholesale purchase.
