  • ICAR-CIFRI Awarded Progressive Fish Farmers on National Fish Farmers’ Day, 2023

    National Fish Farmers’ Day is celebrated on July 10, to commemorate the stupendous achievement of induced breeding technique, which is contemplated as the torchbearer of the ‘First Blue Revolution’ in India. Prof. Hiralal Chaudhary and Dr. K. H. Alikunhi pioneered the ‘Induced breeding technique which was successfully developed in Angul fish farm, Odisha on July 10, 1957, under the then Central Inland Fisheries Research Station, presently known as ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CIFRI), Barrackpore.

  • 117 Agricultural Scientists Successfully Complete Foundation Training at ICAR-NAARM

    Former Vice Chancellor of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, A. Padma Raju, highlighted the benefits of working in remote areas for agricultural scientists to enhance rural conditions and improve the lives of people. Speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the 112th batch of the Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Services (FOCARS) trainees at ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Raju emphasized the importance of commitment among budding scientists in addressing agricultural challenges. He also encouraged them to share their research work and experiences for the betterment of society.
