ANGRAU Incubator to Help ‘Agripreneurs’ in Launching New Businesses

Aside from having insufficient funding, India's agriculture industry, particularly that for export, lacks innovative technologies and concepts. ANGRAU incubator will help agri-startups with innovative ideas in their launch.

The Agri Business Incubator of the Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) located at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Tirupati, invites applications from the 5th cohort of aspiring 'Agripreneurs' looking to launch agri-startups with innovative ideas.

More than 160 entrepreneurs have been supported by the incubator Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY- RAFTAAR), which has already completed four cohorts and received a sanctioned grant of Rs 2.88 crore.

According to Associate Director of Research P. Rajasekhar Reddy, the programme gives students, young entrepreneurs, and farmers the chance to succeed in the fields of agriculture and related industries, regardless of their literacy levels.

2 Flagship Programmes

‘Sankalp 2022 ver 2.0,’ one of the two flagship programmes, is a pre-seed funding programme designed for people with innovative ideas who need to turn them into a prototype and validate them. They will participate in a two-month training programme and receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000

The second programme, called "Samvruddhi 2022 ver 2.0," is a seed-stage programme for already-registered startups that are prepared for scaling. According to Principal Investigator and Chief Executive Officer P. Bala Hussain Reddy, the startups will receive financial aid of up to Rs. 25 lakh after being chosen by a national committee.
