27th World Investment Conference to Showcase India's Investment Potential and Innovation

With more than 120 member agencies representing over 100 countries, WAIPA acts as a bridge between the public and private sectors, advocating for IPAs on the international stage.

Invest India in collaboration with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), is gearing up to host the 27th World Investment Conference (WIC). The event, scheduled to take place from December 11-14, 2023, at the India International Convention & Expo Centre - Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, is under the aegis of DPIIT.

To be a comprehensive platform for global investment promotion and innovation stakeholders. Over 1000 attendees, including representatives from more than 50 Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) and various multilateral agencies, are expected to participate, making it the largest WIC to date.

The Union With the theme ‘Empowering Investors: IPAs Pioneering Future Growth,’ this year's conference is set Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Piyush Goyal, will deliver the keynote address on December 13, 2023. His speech will focus on the Role of Trade and Investment in the Decade of Action. In addition to this, Minister Goyal will chair a closed-room roundtable on Private Equity, emphasizing the critical role of private investment in driving economic growth.

A highlight of the conference will be the launch of the Experience India Centre (EIC), a showcase utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive touch screens, and projection mapping. The EIC will offer delegates a unique opportunity to engage with India's leading startups, explore the country's rich offerings in services, technology, and products, and experience its vibrant culture through immersive touch, feel, taste, smell, vision, and sound experiences.

The conference will also feature sessions on key sectors such as Agri-Food Processing, Energy/Infrastructure, Tourism, Automotive & Machinery, ICT/Technology, and Life Sciences. These parallel sessions aim to provide a detailed exploration of investment opportunities and trends within each sector across participating countries and select Indian States.

Among the distinguished speakers are Secretary, DPIIT, Rajesh Kumar Singh; Secretary, Department of Commerce, Sunil Barthwal; Director General, International Solar Alliance, Dr. Ajay Mathur; CEO, 3rdiTech, Ms. Vrinda Kapoor; Founder and CEO, Paytm, Vijay Shekhar Sharma; and Founder and Executive Vice Chairman, Info Edge, Sanjay Bikhchandani. Representatives from global corporations including DP World, IKEA, Wipro, Equinor, and Arduino, as well as trade and investment ministers from Saudi Arabia, Armenia, and Togo, are also expected to address the conference.

In line with the conference theme, Invest India may release white papers on key topics such as E-Commerce, Electronics, Sustainable textiles, and Responsible AI. Additionally, the conference will host ‘The Startup-Investor Connect program,’ facilitating connections between venture capital funds and international startups across various sectors.

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies, established in 1995, serves as a vital non-governmental organization, empowering and supporting investment promotion agencies globally.
