Yadav stated that our discussion focused on exploring pathways to sustainable development, specifically the circular economy, tackling single-use plastic, forest management, and climate resilience.

The German delegation raised issues such as the impact of climate change on forests, trilateral cooperation in Africa on environment and climate, circular economy, plastic alternatives, and how both countries can pursue bilateral cooperation in these areas.

In response to the German delegation's questions, Yadav emphasised the importance of Prime Minister Modi's Mission LiFE. He discussed the various steps taken by India to combat plastic waste, plastic alternatives, the conservation of endangered species and forests, forest surveys, and agroforestry.

Yadav recognised and appreciated Germany's efforts in the areas of technology, water, circular economy, and forestry through bilateral cooperation.

In response to a question about trilateral cooperation in Africa, the Union Environment Minister stated that the Ministry of Power is already working on several projects in Africa.

However, any trilateral cooperation in Africa on environment and climate must first be approved by the Ministry of External Affairs.

The motto of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam will guide India's G-20, and the concerns of the Global South must be addressed accordingly.

After the meeting, both sides agreed that they have many common interests and may pursue stronger bilateral cooperation in new areas such as biodiversity, climate change, and energy technology, among others.
