The horrifying acid attack on a minor schoolgirl by two bike-borne men in Delhi's Dwarka region on Wednesday, left the entire nation shocked. Though, the emerging details of the case are rather more terrifying.

According to the initial reports, the three suspects of the heinous crime, purchased the chemical through the online retailer site Flipkart. Despite the Apex Court banning the sale of acid, it has taken another lethal acid assault to reveal how simple it is to obtain the chemical, whether in person or via internet.

Now, the e-commerce websites Flipkart and Amazon have received a notice from the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) over the 'easy availability of acid'.
Following the acid assault on the 17-year-old in the national capital, DCW chief Swati Maliwal earlier claimed that despite being banned, the chemical is just as easy to buy as a vegetable in the state. Maliwal said in a video posted to Twitter that the organization might even go to the court to impose stricter enforcement of the ban on the selling of acid over-the-counter.

We have informed the local police about the incident. The perpetrators ought to be detained and punished severely, she can be heard saying in the video.

She further said that despite several warnings and suggestions from DCW, acid is still being sold in the markets across Delhi in the same way like vegetables are sold. Anyone can purchase acid and splash it on any girl. Why do governments seem to be sleeping on it? When a girl is struck with acid, both her soul and her life are destroyed.

Even though we've sent out numerous letters and summonses, the acid sale is still going on in the state. If necessary, we will continue to fight against the sale of acid and perhaps file a lawsuit, she added.

The furious clip of Maliwal surfaced online after a terrifying incident of two bike riders attacking a 17-year-old girl with acid in broad daylight took place near Uttam Nagar in West Delhi on Wednesday.

According to the police, the victim has burns on her face and eyes and is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital. Reportedly, her eyes are severely damaged in the attack and she has burns on her face that are 7-8 per cent severe. The latter is stable at present and has been admitted to the burn ICU.

Meanwhile, hours after the attack, three men, including the victim's neighbor were taken into custody by the local police. The administration has ensured that a forensic examination will be conducted in order to find out what type of acid is being used in the attack. However, the initial reports suggests that the accused probably threw nitric acid on the victim.

Further, the three suspects were identified by the police as Sachin Arora (20), Harshit Aggarwal (19), and Virender Singh (22).
