The conferences are being held in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the Directorate for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the governments of the North Eastern states to explore commercial relationships.

The conferences, according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, will aid in the development of vital areas of the economy in the North East and facilitate economic progress. The B20 is the official G20 conversation forum for the world's business community. It is one of the most visible engagement groups in the G20, including enterprises and business organizations as members.

The Northeast area of India has been a major focus for B20 India projects, with four conferences planned across the region to highlight the region's huge potential and opportunities. The first three conferences, conducted in Imphal, Aizawl, and Gangtok, were successful in their goal of spotlighting the Northeast's untapped potential, according to a statement from the Commerce and Industry Ministry.

The main focus of the upcoming conference, which will be held in Kohima, Nagaland, from April 4-6, 2023, will be Possibilities for Multilateral Business Partnerships in Agricultural and Food Processing, Tourism, and Information Technology.

The conference will feature talks and plenary sessions on this topic, as well as business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) interactions. The state government will emphasize key advancements and efforts in these domains, as well as investment prospects.

Dinner and a cultural event will be held at the Capital Cultural Hall when the attendees arrive on the first day of the three-day conference. On the second day, the B20 conference will be place, followed by B2B and B2G meetings.

Excursions and site visits have also been organized by the state administration. This includes a tour of the mini-Hornbill festival, a visit to a WWII museum, and a stop at Kisama Village, a Heritage Village. The event will conclude on the third day with a visit to the Kohima War Cemetery and the departure of participants from Kohima.
