In a recent episode of the 'Meet the Press' program held in Chandigarh, Union Minister of State for Ayush and Women & Child Development, Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, engaged in a detailed discussion with journalists about the upcoming Ayurveda Day and the Ministry of Ayush's accomplishments over the last nine years. The conversation revolved around the 'Ayurveda for One Health' campaign, which has seen remarkable global participation and support.

Dr. Mahendrabhai announced that this ambitious campaign has garnered support from farmers, students, and the general public in approximately a hundred countries. To date, an astounding 12 crore individuals have pledged their cooperation and backing for the 'Ayurveda for One Health Campaign'. Furthermore, over 14 lakh people actively participated in about 15 thousand public engagement activities associated with the campaign. The campaign has made its presence felt in approximately 90 countries across the world, solidifying the 'Ayurveda for One Health' movement as a global phenomenon with massive public participation.

The pinnacle of the campaign's success will be celebrated on the 8th Ayurveda Day, scheduled for November 10, 2023, in Panchkula, Haryana. Union Minister for Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, announced this global campaign from Delhi on October 10, 2023. 'Ayurveda Day' is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Ayush on the day of Dhanvantari Jayanti. However, this year's campaign, boasting the global message of 'Ayurveda for One Health,' extended beyond India, making a significant impact worldwide.

Several organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Ayush have played a pivotal role in connecting farmers, youth, and the general public with the 'Ayurveda for One Health' campaign through various initiatives. Farmers from all corners of the country participated in the Ayurveda Day campaign through meetings, discussions, and workshops. To engage the youth, a nationwide bikers rally took place, with teams of young individuals in 11 cities taking to the streets to promote the 'Ayurveda for One Health' campaign and spread the message of Ayurveda Day.

The Ministry of Ayush extended the campaign's reach to millions of people by organizing meetings in embassies, collaborating with state governments, hosting healthcare camps and rallies, and working with voluntary organizations. The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the nodal agency for organizing 'Ayurveda Day,' developed a micro website (www.ayurvedaday.org.in) to connect people from around the world to the 'Ayurveda for One Health' campaign.

In realizing the success of this campaign, various institutions and organizations, including the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, RCFC (Regional cum Facilitation Centre)/SMPBs (State Medicinal Plant Board), ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), Central Ayurvedic Research Institute (CARI) in Delhi and Patiala, National Research Institute of Ayurveda (RARI) in various locations, Dr. A. Lakshmipathy National Ayurveda Research Institute, Captain Srinivas Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Chennai, and NIMH (National Institute of Medical Heritage) in Hyderabad, provided their unwavering support.

The grand finale of the global campaign of Ayurveda Day will unfold in Panchkula, Haryana, on November 9th and 10th.  Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Ayush Minister, will be the guest of honor, and Union Minister of State for Ayush, Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, will also grace the occasion as a special guest during this two-day event.
