Goa CM Inaugurates Ayush Health Services & Research Facility at Ribandar

With the inauguration of Ayush health services and research facilities in Goa, the Ministry of Ayush has taken a significant stride towards achieving its goals of providing accessible healthcare, promoting traditional medicine, and fostering research in the field.

The Ministry of Ayush has taken a significant step towards promoting traditional medicine and enhancing healthcare services in India by establishing Ayush health services and research facilities in Ribandar, Goa.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of Ayush & Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik, and Minister of Health, Government of Goa Vishwajit Rane, along with senior officers from the Ayush Ministry.

The newly established facility aims to provide high-quality and affordable Ayush healthcare services to the local community while also fostering research in traditional medicine. It includes various specialized units dedicated to different Ayush systems, such as Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, and Unani. These units comprise the CCRAS – Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Mineral and Marine Medicinal Resources, CCRH – Clinical Research Unit (Homeopathy), CCRS - Siddha Clinical Research Unit, CCRYN - Clinical Research Unit, and CCRUM – Unani Speciality Clinic.

One of the primary objectives of the Ayush health services and research facilities is to promote research in traditional medicine. To facilitate this, the establishment includes a museum, library, and laboratory exclusively designed for conducting research on medicines of mineral and marine origin. This focus on research signifies a progressive step towards understanding and harnessing the potential of traditional medicine for the benefit of society.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ayush & Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of promoting traditional medicine. He emphasized the importance of Ayush in addressing prevalent health issues and improving the overall well-being of individuals. Sonowal highlighted the significant role that traditional Indian medical science can play in the welfare of the entire human society.

Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, acknowledged the distinct nature of Ayush as an ancient medical system and its role in achieving holistic health. He commended the efforts of the Union Ministry of Ayush in establishing these research institutions in Goa, propelling the state towards becoming a prominent Ayush healthcare and medical tourism hub in India.

 pad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Tourism, expressed his hope that this initiative would enable the integration of traditional medicine with the modern healthcare system. He emphasized the need to promote research and make Ayush services accessible to every village, ensuring that people can fully benefit from their potential.

The newly established institutes aim to provide high-quality and affordable healthcare services to all regions of Goa through Ayush systems of medicine. The focus lies not only on expanding infrastructure and human resources but also on promoting research in traditional medical systems through collaborations with reputed organizations. Furthermore, the facilities strive to integrate Ayush services with modern medicine and encourage innovations in the field.
