Many times, especially during winters, trains get cancelled or delayed due to dense fog and technical issues making people wait on the platforms for hours in the cold weather. During such situations, people can take the benefit of railway rooms available on the stations. Passengers of Indian railways can take these rooms on rent and stay comfortably for as long as two days.
IRCTC provides lounges as well as retiring rooms for its passengers at a very economical price. Check the exact price and other details below;

IRCTC Service Charge of Rs.20/- has to be paid for up to 24 hours and Rs. 40/- for 24 hours to 48 hours if you book a Retiring Room.

Service charge of Rs. 10/- has to be paid for up to 24 hours and Rs.20/- for 24 hours to 48 hours if you book a Dormitory Bed.

The Entry Charge of Executive Lounge, PF-1 for initial 1 hour is Rs.150 per person and Executive Lounge, PF-16 for 2 hours is Rs.200 per person - "Exclusive of all taxes". However, Bank Charges will be borne by the passenger on the booking or cancellation.
But in order to book these room, you need to have a confirmed ticket as well as a PNR number. Also note that these rooms can be booked on Indian railways website for stations like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

Then enter your PNR number and click on search button

Few options as per the availability will be displayed on the screen

After booking, you will have to submit your identification documents.
Terms and condition for railway room booking
It must be noted that only 1 room can be booked through 1 PNR number.
Also, rooms would be allotted on the first-come-first-serve basis.
