Today, Delhi residents can expect a relatively mild day with temperatures ranging from a high of 27°C to a low of 14°C. Winds are expected to be light at around 5 km/h, while humidity levels will remain relatively high at 79 percent with expectations of drizzle. These weather conditions suggest a somewhat comfortable day ahead for the capital city, although the presence of humidity might make it feel slightly warmer.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts isolated light to moderate rainfall or snowfall across most areas in Himachal Pradesh, particularly in the Chamba district. Additionally, the IMD predicts the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy precipitation in various districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, and others.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Srinagar district in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a significant drop in temperature due to rainfall. Srinagar recorded a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg dipped to minus 2.9 degrees Celsius.
Residents welcomed the rainfall, anticipating relief for farmers and a reduction in pollution levels in the city.
The Meteorological Department has issued an extended wet spell warning for the entire region, forecasting light to moderate rain and snow across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir until tomorrow.
Multiple weather systems, including two Western Disturbances and a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan, are expected to merge, leading to widespread precipitation across the Western Himalayan Region. The forecast also includes heavy rainfall/snowfall in specific regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, along with the possibility of hailstorm activity in several areas, the press release noted.
The warnings issued underscore the need for residents across Northern India to stay prepared for erratic weather conditions, with authorities advising caution and preparedness to mitigate any potential risks associated with the ongoing weather disturbances.
