The Centre for Marketing & Promotion of Rural Products, Entrepreneurship Development (CMPRPED), NIRDPR Delhi Branch is organizing a national workshop for deliberating the scope of ‘Export Marketing of Handicraft and Handloom Products’ from 14th to 15th May 2024 at Casuarina Hall, IHC, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. It presents a good opportunity to deliberate on enhancing the export scope for rural handicraft and handloom products.

The Ministry of Rural Development and the prestigious National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) have created a good opportunity for rural producers, artisans, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). NIRDPR is taking a big leap to export rural products of SHGs. The ardent quest to establish a thriving export market for the exquisite products crafted by industrious SHGs is about to embark on a momentous journey.

Throughout the realm, marketing the fruits of these flourishing SHGs has often been a thorny issue. Many Rural Entrepreneur and Producer Groups find themselves confined to local sales or the transient bustle of fairs. To dispel this constraint, the CMPRPED, NIRDPR Delhi Branch, is organizing the workshop. This illustrious gathering will convene to discern the boundless potential of exporting handicrafts and handloom products.

A glittering array of stakeholders will grace this exalted workshop, including the stalwarts of the SHG movement, State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs), export promotion councils, esteemed institutions, governmental entities, and industrial and design luminaries.

This workshop carries a twofold mission: to empower participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the world of export marketing for their handicraft and handloom products and to forge enduring connections between SHGs and export councils, federations, embassies, and corporate giants, thereby paving the way for a flourishing export ecosystem.

Throughout this illustrious event, discussions will delve into the daunting challenges and radiant prospects for Indian handicraft and handloom exports, insights from successful export marketing endeavors, meticulous procedures involved in export marketing, strategies to elevate marketability, tangible rewards reaped through exporting, and smoothing the path for SHGs to enter the export market.

Technical intricacies will also be meticulously addressed, encompassing ensuring adherence to regulations, meeting product standards, safeguarding intellectual property, overcoming logistical hurdles, bridging cultural divides, crafting a compelling brand, maintaining the highest quality, and the undeniable advantages of exporting SHG products.

Furthermore, the workshop will explore strategies to empower SHGs for export success, including targeted training and capacity-building programs, rigorous certification processes, market research, and trend analysis.
