India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued multiple alerts as weather systems, including a Western Disturbance and cyclonic circulations, bring widespread rainfall, snowfall, and dense fog to various parts of the country. Northwest India will experience heavy snowfall in the Himalayan regions and thunderstorms in the plains, while dense fog and cold wave conditions persist across central, eastern, and northeastern states. Western Disturbance and Rainfall Forecast 

A Western Disturbance is currently active, accompanied by an embedded cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan and neighboring areas. This system, along with an induced cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan, is expected to impact weather conditions as follows:

Additionally, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to influence northwest India between January 10–12, with light rainfall predicted for January 10.

The IMD has issued an alert for sharp temperature drops, cold wave conditions, and dense fog in multiple regions. Residents are advised to prepare for severe cold days and reduced visibility during early mornings and nights. Stay updated and take necessary precautions.
