The body's response to such measures can trigger intense cravings for sugary treats and high-fat meals as if demanding compensation for the deprivation it has endured.

In a recent Instagram post, Nutritionist Bhuvan Rastogi emphasizes the dynamic nature of the term "healthy diets." What may appear as a healthy approach might not necessarily hold true. According to nutritionists, being healthy does not involve depriving oneself or enduring misery in the pursuit of weight loss. Instead, it is about understanding and fulfilling the needs of your body. Rastogi highlights the importance of maintaining consistent healthy eating practices combined with regular physical workouts.

Rastogi advises his followers to stick to the basics, which include eating a balanced diet, allowing themselves to enjoy their favourite desserts occasionally, and staying committed to regular exercise. According to Rastogi, these simple principles are all you need to achieve and maintain fitness and overall well-being.

1. Avoiding entire food categories can be risky.
By completely eliminating food groups such as rice, grains, carbohydrates, lipids, fruits, or legumes, you may expose yourself to the risk of nutritional deficiencies. It is important to maintain a well-rounded diet that includes a variety of food groups to ensure a balanced intake of essential nutrients.

2. Avoid labelling foods as "good" or "bad."
When it comes to maintaining a healthy eating pattern, assigning moral judgments to food based on their perceived goodness or badness can lead to black-and-white thinking. Categorizing foods in this way can create unnecessary anxiety and restrict your choices. Enjoying an occasional indulgence like Maggi or pizza does not make you a bad person, just as consistently eating salads does not automatically make you a virtuous eater. It's important to adopt a more flexible and balanced approach to food choices.

3. Opting for low-calorie items isn't always the healthiest choice.
It's important to understand that a food's calorie content alone does not determine its overall healthiness. Calories are units of energy that your body needs to function properly. If you consistently strive to minimize your calorie intake, it can lead to fatigue, mental sluggishness, and decreased physical performance. In more severe cases, it can also result in weakened immunity, muscle loss, and decreased libido. Instead of solely focusing on calories, it's crucial to consider the nutritional value and balance of the foods you consume for optimal health.

4. Eliminating foods you once enjoyed can have negative effects.
By excluding foods that bring you comfort from your diet, you may develop a heightened preoccupation with them, increasing the risk of binge eating or overeating. This restriction can also impact your mental well-being. It is important to include the foods you enjoy in your diet, in moderation if needed, to maintain a balanced approach to eating.

5. Constantly experimenting with diets and detox methods can be counterproductive.
The diet industry thrives on promoting dissatisfaction with our bodies and enticing us with quick fixes. Instead of constantly jumping from one diet or detox to another, it is more beneficial to focus on long-term sustainable changes. By sticking to the fundamentals of healthy eating, you can achieve consistent and lasting results without resorting to extreme measures. It's important to prioritize a balanced and healthy lifestyle over short-term solutions.
