IMD Forecasts Intense Rainfall, Heatwaves In THESE Areas Till April 17

IMD said that intensive heatwave will continue over northwest India and Madhya Pradesh till 17 April.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), an intense heatwave will persist throughout North West India and Madhya Pradesh until April 17. The Meteorological department further stated that widespread rainfall would continue through April 17 in Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal, Kerala-Mahe, Assam-Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Rainfall Forecast

The IMD predicts heavy rainfall with thunderstorms/lightning over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura during the next five days.

Heavy rain is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura on the 15th and 17th of April.

The Meteorological department predicts moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across Kerala-Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka during the next five days.

During the next five days, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will see scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms/lightning.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is quite probable over ghat parts of Tamil Nadu from 15 to 17 April; across Kerala, Mahe from 16 to 17 April; over South Interior Karnataka from 15 to 18 April; and over North Interior Karnataka on 15 April.

On April 17, extremely heavy rain is also expected for South Interior Karnataka.

Heatwaves Forecast

Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are very likely over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Rajasthan from 15 to 19 April; Himachal Pradesh from 15 to 18 April; Jammu division from 16 to 18 April; Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh from 17 to 19 April; and Bihar, Saurashtra, and Kutch from 15 to 16 April.

Severe heatwave conditions are also expected in isolated areas across Rajasthan from the 17th to the 19th of April, as well as over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on the 17th and 18th of April.
