  • ITOTY 2023: Krishi Jagran Media Partners with Indian Tractor of the Year Awards

    An award that motivates farmers to work harder, the Indian Tractor of The Year Award or ITOTY, is all set to launch its fourth edition this year. Krishi Jagran is going to be the media partner for the second consecutive year in a row. Last year, the award was secured by the Mahindra 575 DI XP Plus and the Massey Ferguson 246 DYNATRACK. In 2021, it was won by the Sonalika Tiger 55. ITOTY’s other media partners include Business Standard, Jagran, Business Today, and Agriculture Post.

  • Tree Plantation Drive Kicks Off Along Bangalore-Chennai Expressway

    The greening initiative for the under-construction Bangalore-Chennai Expressway (BCE) has commenced, starting with the planting of tree saplings along the Arakkonam to Gudipala stretch in the first phase. A total of 4,400 trees will be planted on either side of the expressway, with a spacing of 10 m between each tree and positioned 14 m away from the center of the paved shoulder. Furthermore, two rows of shrubs will be planted, consisting of a total of 19,556 shrubs.

     

  • Male Cheetah Suraj Dead At Kuno National Park; Is Cheetah’s Project In Kuno National Park In Danger?

    India has suffered yet another loss in its efforts to increase the population of cheetahs. This time, a male cheetah imported from South Africa named Suraj was found dead in Kuno National Park. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of death. This unfortunate incident occurred shortly after the death of another cheetah named Tejas in the same national park, which was determined to be the result of a violent fight. Media reports reported that Suraj's internal organs were also compromised. Sasha, a female cheetah, passed away on March 27 due to a kidney ailment. Uday, another cheetah, then died on April 23 from cardio-pulmonary failure. Daksha, a female cheetah, suffered a violent encounter with a male during a mating attempt and died on May 9.

  • Digital Platform Empowers Stakeholders in the Growing Seaweed Industry

    The Algae Store, an upcoming digital platform, aims to provide a comprehensive solution for stakeholders in the seaweed industry. Expected to launch in September, this online B2B marketplace will facilitate networking, buying, selling, and promoting the formalization of the sector. Sakshi Gore, with the support of the Kochi-based Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) and in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Chennai, developed the platform to enhance visibility, both domestically and internationally, and offer various services to cultivators and buyers. According to Gore's project report, seaweeds have diverse applications across industries such as agriculture, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, and packaging. 

  • Goa CM Inaugurates Ayush Health Services & Research Facility at Ribandar

    The Ministry of Ayush has taken a significant step towards promoting traditional medicine and enhancing healthcare services in India by establishing Ayush health services and research facilities in Ribandar, Goa. The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of Ayush & Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik, and Minister of Health, Government of Goa Vishwajit Rane, along with senior officers from the Ayush Ministry.
