At the Central Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (CFMTTI) in Budni, Madhya Pradesh, the country's first electric tractor was put to the test.

According to an official statement, CFMTTI had originally received an application for a classified evaluation of an electric tractor. As a result, the tractor was tested and a draft test report was published in February of this year.

The vendor demanded that the test's intent be revised from "confidential to commercial" after the draft test report was published, and the competent authority approved the request.

As a result, the evaluation report was made available to the public as a commercial test report. Compared to other kinds of tractors, the electric tractor would be more eco friendly.

On March 30, CFMTTI received the Certificate of Accreditation for Central Motor Vehicles Rules Test Laboratory from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

The accreditation would include third-party attestation for a conformity assessment body, demonstrating its standardized ability to perform particular conformity assessment tasks.

A Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) is a research organization that comprises medical labs, validation labs, proficiency testing providers, and accredited reference content producers.

Research centers and laboratories must "demonstrably run at an internationally appropriate level of competence" in order to meet quality standards in domestic trade, according to a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.

An competent body grants official certification of scientific expertise for relevant assessments or calculations based on third-party evaluation and compliance with international norms.
