ASSOCHAM Kerala State Development Council in collaboration with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India is organizing Millet Festival/Millet Ulsavam with Conference Theme on Strengthening the Millets Value Chain on 12 & 13 May 2023 at Gokulam Park Convention Centre, Kochi, Kerala.
Several programmes have been launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to promote domestic and international millets. A variety of pre-launch programmes and initiatives for the International Year of Millet 2023 were also organised on the MyGov platform to raise awareness and encourage public participation in this ancient nutritious grain (millet). MyGov has evolved into a vital and effective tool for promoting awareness through contests.
Millet is high in micronutrients, vitamins, and minerals. The International Year of Millets will raise awareness about millets' contribution to food security and nutrition, stimulate stakeholders to continue producing and improving millets' quality, and draw attention to increased investment in research and development services.
