The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was speaking at a farmers' meeting in Hastinapur organised by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.

"Cow-based farming does not disrupt the natural cycle. Farmers in our area are concerned. Because all of their needs cannot be met, the cost of agriculture must be cut. This is only achievable with cow-based farming," Bhagwat explained.

"Our soil has been ploughed for thousands of years," he said, urging farmers to avoid using chemicals. Yet, it is still fertile. We have seen agricultural productivity decline as a result of indiscriminately increasing it.

"Farm chemicals are getting into our bodies and making us sick." According to Bhagwat, the government may adjust its policies, but farmers must undertake the effort to safeguard agriculture and nature. During his tour, the RSS chief also visited Hastinapur's old historical landmarks from the "Mahabharata" period.

Cow-based natural farming refers to traditional farming practices based on cow dung and urine. There are no external chemical or organic fertilisers used.

It has various advantages. Besides from increasing output, it will also help farmers increase their income, protect natural resources and the environment, and offer optimum nutrition to the crop.
