The north-eastern region of India (NER) is a country of exquisite beauty, with rolling hills and exciting flora and fauna. With its agrarian heritage and agro-friendly environment, the region has the potential to be a food processing dawn zone.
The various government incentives set the stage for making food processing a profitable option in the area, and to give impetus to the development of the food processing industry in NER, the Ministry is providing higher levels of subsidy in all schemes, which will benefit not only the growers of agricultural produce but also create jobs in service sectors such as transportation, packaging, advertising, and marketing.
Given this context, the Confederation of Indian Industry - Southern Region is organising the inaugural Foodpro North-East 2023, an initiative of Foodpro India's largest event on Food Processing & Food Technology since 1995.
Foodpro North-East 2023, an Event on Food Processing, Packaging, Technologies, Cold Chain, and Traditional Foods, will be held from September 12-14, 2023, at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati, with the topic "Growing the Market for Food Processing in the North-East."
